That figure is not a starting point or an estimate. It is the Labor Rate written into §1 of the Terms, and it is the whole price of the work.

What an hour on the meter is.

An hour is sixty minutes of Aleq working on your books. Not a billing period, not a seat-month — the time it actually spent.

It counts work, not calendar time.The meter records seconds of Aleq labor — reconciling, drafting the entry, matching the bill, working the receivable. A nine-second action bills nine seconds. An idle Tuesday bills nothing.
One rate across the work.The contract names a single Labor Rate. Reconciliation, the close, payables, collections, the consolidation, and the GAAP schedules all meter at the same $60.00.
Billed monthly, in arrears.You are invoiced after the month Aleq worked, for the work it did. Nothing is charged up front and nothing is committed in advance.

the arithmetic

Multiply hours by sixty.

The rate is the only number we publish, because it is the only one that is fixed. The other variable is how many hours of work your books needed — a group carrying several entities, three currencies, and a consolidation meters more hours than a single set of books. The rate does not move. The hours do.

Twenty hours is the one volume we have put in writing — work that needs about twenty hours of real attention a month. The rows under it are that same arithmetic at three and six times the volume. They are multiplications, not quotes: your invoice is whatever the meter recorded.

the cap

You set the ceiling. It never slows the work.

You may set a monthly spend threshold. The day the meter approaches it, Aleq notifies the contacts you name — and the work continues. No work is queued, deferred, or deprioritized because a threshold was reached.

That distinction is the whole point of the control. A cap that throttles the work would stop your close in the middle of a month you have to sign. This one tells you where you are; it does not decide what gets done.

And the liability cap is a separate negotiation, on your order form, sized to the engagement — not a number we set once for everyone. Both are in the Terms, §3 and §6.

what you are not charged for

The meter is the invoice.

What is missing from the bill is as checkable as what is on it. Everything below is named — or conspicuously absent — in the contract you would sign.

SeatsPriced on work, not seats. Put your whole finance team on it, or two people; the meter reads the same, because it is counting Aleq's hours, not yours.
A standing feeThe Terms name one fee — the Labor Rate — and one pass-through, below. There is no separate subscription running underneath it.
ModulesNothing here is unlocked by tier. The standards engine, multi-entity consolidation, and collections by voice are work Aleq does, metered like the rest of it.
An implementation projectAleq connects on read-only credentials and is live in 48 hours. There is no configuration phase to buy and no consulting bench to keep on retainer.
Telephony — the one pass-throughWhere you turn on collections by voice, telephony and third-party voice fees are passed through at cost plus 0%. It is the only thing on your invoice that is not the meter.
StayingEither side can end it on 30 days' written notice. You leave with your complete ledger and source documents — CSV plus a signed manifest — not a support ticket.
